Apparently one of my dick roommates isn’t cool with me having a dog in the house. Which would have been nice to know, oh I don’t know, a month ago before I got him, you know, when I asked if everyone was cool with it. But instead dickhead went straight to my landlord, without ever saying a single word to me, and now I’m on the prowl for a new place to live. Awesome.
I think I’ve found a cheap, probably really crappy, single to live in that doesn’t seem bad at all. I’m mostly just stewing over the email I’m going to send out to them and all the ways I can be a total bitch.

Another day, another bayou.

Yesterday I did some fieldwork with my professor in Chauvin. So when they have the boat blessing everyone parades down the bayou and people hang out at their houses and watch the boats go by. Along the bayou there’s this sculpture garden, here they have some food vendors and you can hang out in the open area next to it to watch the boat parade, and it. is. AMAZING. It’s literally hidden in plain site - our pseudo-tour guide for the afternoon has lived here forever and had never even been inside the gates. Unfortunately it has very little to do with my actual research but nonetheless it was an awesome surprise.

First day of my internship today. I will be spending my semester updating and adding to the above website. It seems rather relaxed and pretty useful in the future, hopefully.

Here I am. In Louisiana. In my new room. On an already deflating air mattress. The past few days have been jam packed and non stop. The next few days are going to be very lonesome and boring.
